A Honey Without Flowers Sunday Devotional with a Touch of Sass (and Supper)
If we’re being honest — and we are always honest — the Proverbs 31 Woman has intimidated women for centuries. She’s basically the Dolly Parton of the Bible: talented, beloved, multitasking, charming, and somehow doing it all with a smile and great hair.
Meanwhile, I’m over here proud of myself if I remember where I left my phone.
But here’s my theory:
The Proverbs 31 Woman would’ve absolutely used a slow cooker.
Not because she was lazy. Not because she couldn’t cook. But because she knew that wisdom isn’t doing more — it’s using your tools well so you can show up for what matters.
If she’d had a Crockpot? Oh, baby. She would’ve been tossing in onions like confetti and letting that thing do the heavy lifting while she went off to do all her virtuous woman things… or maybe just sit quietly with the Lord for five minutes without anyone needing to know where their socks are.
Because truthfully? God never asked us to be superwomen. He just asked us to be faithful.
Faithful with our time.
Faithful with our families.
Faithful with our rest.
Faithful with the little things that feel ordinary but matter deeply.
And some days, being faithful looks like saying: “I’m going to let this slow cooker do dinner so I can breathe.”
Scripture:
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25
Laugh at the days to come? Honey, that sounds like someone who learned the joy of a Crockpot meal that cooks itself.

🌼 Something to Think About
Let this be your gentle reminder that God cares about your heart, not your hustle. Your effort, not your exhaustion. Your faithfulness, not your perfection.
And He absolutely isn’t disappointed if your Sunday dinner simmered joyfully in a Crockpot while you tended to your soul.
With grace, a comfy apron, and a Crockpot doing the Lord’s work,
Natalie 💛
