âWe have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.â âRomans 12:6
Letâs be real: if spiritual gifts came with a sparkly gift tag, half of us would still forget to open them. Or weâd say, âOh no, I couldnât possiblyâŚâ while secretly hoping someone else figures it out for us.
But newsflash: God gave you a gift ON PURPOSE. Not because He was running out of ideas, but because you were the exact person He wanted to hand it to.
đ§ What Even Is a Spiritual Gift?
A spiritual gift is like Godâs version of a custom Etsy order just for you. Itâs something youâre uniquely wired to do to help others and reflect His love. Think:
- Encouraging others like itâs your love language
- Organizing chaos like a spiritual Marie Kondo
- Comforting the brokenhearted without needing a TED Talk
- Teaching Sunday school with goldfish crackers and grace
And no, you donât need a seminary degree or a âWelcome Teamâ badge to use them.
đĄ How Do I Find Mine?
Well, I donât recommend shaking the box and listening. But I do recommend asking questions like:
- What makes me feel totally alive and connected to God?
- What do people always say Iâm good at (besides picking the best snacks)?
- What can I do that doesnât make me want to hide under the couch?
Still clueless? Ask your mom, your friend, your baristaâtheyâll probably tell you what youâre already doing that blesses people.
đ Real Talk: Itâs Not About the Spotlight
Hereâs the kickerâspiritual gifts are not for your personal highlight reel. Theyâre for building up the body of Christ, which is a fancy way of saying: love people well.
So donât be afraid to:
- Use your words to lift someone whoâs been in the dumps since Tuesday.
- Offer your time even if it means folding chairs or chasing toddlers.
- Share your wisdom without turning it into a podcast (unless you’re called to do that⌠then bless you and your microphone).
Even the smallest act done with love is BIG in Godâs kingdom.
đ Final Thought: Your Gift Is on Holy Backorder No More
Godâs not Amazon Prime. Heâs better. Your gift came at the exact right time and itâs ready to be unwrapped. No returns. No exchanges. Just a loving reminder: the world doesnât need you to be someone else. It needs you to be exactly who God createdâgifted, grace-filled, and probably still learning.
So go ahead. Rip that bow off. Use your gift.
Even if youâre sweating, nervous, or slightly undercaffeinatedâuse it anyway.
Hugs & Prayers,
Natalieđ
